MTN Rwandacell PLC (MTN Rwanda), in partnership with the Ministry of ICT and Innovation, is thrilled to unveil their affordable 4G enabled smartphone, IKOSORA+, under the umbrella digital inclusion initiative Connect Rwanda 2.0 in Nyakarambi Sector, Kirehe District.

Connect Rwanda 2.0 follows the success of Connect Rwanda 1.0, which provided pledged smartphones to over 26,599 beneficiaries nationwide. The objective of Connect Rwanda 1.0 to increase smartphone accessibility has been reinforced the second time around with the launch of the IKOSORA+, which addresses the need for increased affordability of smartphones, while narrowing the digital gap and improving connectivity.

Honourable Minister Paula Ingabire highlighted during the launch event in Kirehe District “The Ministry of ICT and Innovation congratulates MTN Rwanda for introducing the affordable 4G-enabled Ikosora+ smartphone, a significant step in advancing the #ConnectRwanda 2.0 initiative. This achievement aligns with our goal of fostering inclusive broadband access, ensuring cost-effective internet solutions are within reach for all citizens.”

By launching the IKOSORA+, this initiative unlocks a world of opportunities by empowering individuals with access to the internet and a wide range of digital services, further fostering their participation in the digital economy.

Priced at just Rwf 20,000, IKOSORA+ is available at all MTN service centers and connect shops across the country. Additionally, customers will enjoy an exclusive bonus package that includes 1GB of data per day, 100 minutes of voice, and 100 SMS for a period of 30 days at a cost of Rwf 1,000 only. This bundle offer is valid for 12 months and can be recharged when it expires.
