MTN Rwanda every year supports women-led saving groups through its annual initiative “Connecting Women in Business (CWiB)”. This initiative has so far supported more than 1,000 women saving groups, both financially and through business acumen training. Through Foundation, MTN funds initiative selected saving groups in the category of Agriculture, in Art, Fintech and women with disabilities.
“Level Up your Biz” is a youth initiative meant to empower and provide youth-led businesses with the right entrepreneurial skills and knowledge and as a result would strengthen their innovative capabilities amidst an evolving digital world.
In order to address some of the economic & emotional challenges faced by teen mothers, MTN in partnership with Empower Rwanda (A women-led local NGO) supported 110 vulnerable teen mothers in Rwamagana and Gatsibo districts.
The support worth 10 million FRW went through individual and group items such as sewing machines, and accessories livestock, and sanitary items among others.
