Abubakar Mohammed is a dynamic and visionary leader with over 23 years of experience in developing and executing high-growth commercial strategies across Enterprise, Consumer, Customer Relations, and Sales & Distribution. Renowned for his ability to drive sales execution and operational excellence, Abu has built strong commercial structures that enhance customer growth, market penetration, revenue acceleration, and sustainable market leadership across both emerging and established markets.
Before joining MTN Rwanda, Abu held key leadership roles at MTN Ghana, where he developed the Regional Sales and Distribution framework that became the MTN Group’s blueprint. He has also contributed to building efficient market and distribution systems across MTN operations in Guinea Conakry, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, and Rwanda. He holds a BSc in Administration (Marketing) and an Executive MBA from the University of Ghana Business School, along with certifications in Advanced Key Account Management (CIM, UK) and Project Management (George Washington University, USA).
