How to subscribe
To use the code *516#, all you need is to dial the code *516# to access the menu and select pack of your choice and call the favorite celebrity.
Subscription rates
Subscription costs for Star connect are as below:

Note: Subscription does not renew upon expiration
Terms and conditions
- Star connect is open to all MTN active prepaid customers.
- Customers will be able to subscribe to the service using their mobile main balance.
- Customers will not be able to call the celebrity’s number using main balance or other packs apart from Star Connect packs.
- Customer’s subscription does not automatically renew upon expiration because this service is on demand.
- Users may dial *516# to enter the menu buy pack and select the celebrity they want to talk to.

Who can use the Star connect service?
Star connect service is available to all MTN prepaid subscribers.
Is a special handset required to use the Star connect service?
No. Star connect is open to all basic, feature and smart phones.
How can callers use Star connect service?
Caller dials short code *516# and enter the menu.
Caller selects the language they would like to use.
Caller selects/buys pack of his/ her choice
Caller selects the celebrity and gets the celebrity’s number and user can speak to the
celebrity of his/her choice.
How does a user check his/her balance?
Only by dialing *140*5#
Do I need to download any application to use Star connect?
There is no need. You can access star connect services by dialing *516# only.
How can callers change back to the menu?
By pressing ‘0’ the user can go back to the main menu.
Do users need internet to access Star connect service?
No, internet needed to access the service
What are the languages supported by Star Connect?
English and Kinyarwanda.
What kinds of notifications users get via SMS?
The system is currently set up to provide the following notifications:
- Subscription Success
- Subscription failure
- Promotional SMS by Operator.
Note: The system can be configured to send additional SMS if required.
How much does this service cost?
- Dialing the Short Code is FREE
- Daily subscription at 100RWF including VAT
- Daily subscription at 250RWF including VAT
- Weekly subscription at 400RWF including VAT
What happens if the caller does not use the purchased pack to call the celebrity?
If the purchased pack is not used to call celebrities during the assigned time, it expires.
