MyMTN App
The App can be downloaded from several application platforms including Play Store, BlackBerry World and the Apple Store.
The MyMTN App is free of downloading costs to all, to enjoy the app to the fullest.
The MyMTN App is completely zero-rated, meaning no data is used while being active on the App.
MyMTN App has many security measures, as conventional measures are combined with SMS codes. For your Mobile Money account, you will have to fill in your 5-digit pin as well as a SMS code you will receive when opening the MoMo section. For the Self-Care section, customers create their own password in the App. When using the MyMTN for the first time on a phone, and SMS will be sent with a One-Time-Password to your number. This means that when someone else tries to log in to your account, your phone gets stolen or you lose it, your details are safe if no one else knows your personal pin or password.
MyMTN performs up to expectations consistently, however, in case it is not working a customer can always use the MTN USSD platforms. Please also communicate your issue to MTN call centre at 100 so that the issue can be solved as soon as possible.
When you have a question, you can first check the App itself. The FAQs section of the App provides answers to many questions you might have. If the question you have is not answered in the FAQ section, the App can be used to send a question to customer service or be used to locate the closest service centre. If your inquiry remains unanswered, please dial the customer service line at 100.
Roaming
You are just required to * the MTN network in the country you are visiting. The tariff of 10FRw per MB is only applicable on MTN networks.
As an MTN customer, you will be able to enjoy the rate of 10FRw/MB in the below Countries where we have MTN sister companies.

MTN 4G LTE on Prepaid
4G is the 4th Generation of mobile network technology, giving you faster speeds and an overall better internet experience. You’ll notice a difference when you’re gaming, streaming, downloading and surfing.
In a word – speed. MTN 4G provides lightning fast mobile internet speeds (over 100Mbps). Impressive right? MTN 4G is available in Kigali and other up-country areas. When you make or receive a call, your service will automatically switch from 4G onto the MTN 3G network. When you make or receive a call, you’ll notice the ‘4G’ or ‘LTE’ symbol on your screen will switch to a 3G symbol. When you finish your call, your service will reconnect back onto 4G where available.
There is absolutely no difference. 4G also often referred to as LTE, stands for ‘Long Term Evolution’. Different handset manufacturers refer to both terms so on an iPhone you will see ‘LTE’ on the screen (when in 4G coverage) and in your menu settings, whereas on Android devices you could have both ‘4G’ and ‘LTE’ on your screen and in menu settings.

When you’re getting 4G coverage on your 4G-enabled phone, you’ll see either ‘4G’ or ‘LTE’ appear next to the signal bars at the top of your screen.
You might notice that your device is switching between 3G and 4G coverage as you move around – that’s because it will automatically * the strongest signal for the area you’re in.
If you are using a dongle, MiFi or router, while connected to a laptop or computer, the device web interface will display either 4G or 3G.
When we launched 4G in 2015, it was restricted to modems compared to now where we have 4G on mobile devices. The technology was also very new and there was a lot to learn. For example, our customers using 4G then could not automatically switch between the technology and the older 3G. This meant that in areas, where olleh Rwanda networks did not have 4G coverage, customers could not use the service. MTN has since worked with our technology partners to fix these challenges.
In addition, the 4G coverage this time covers a much wider area across Rwanda. Olleh has extended the 4G network to more than 17 districts out of 30, covering major towns across the country.
Olleh has also invested significantly in capacity and can therefore accommodate larger numbers of customers simultaneously using the network at any one time.

You can deactivate 4G on your phone, dongle/MiFi or tablet’s menu settings. This lets you easily turn it off and on whenever you want. However, if you choose this option and * your phone or tablet’s software in the future, 4G may default back ‘on’, so watch out for that.
You will need a new 4G SIM card. You can easily swap your old SIM card for a 4G SIM card at any MTN Service Centre at only 1000 FRw.
Not necessarily. Let us say you have been taking 30 minutes to download a movie, with 4G, you could get it within 5 minutes. The idea is that with 4G you get to do more in much less time.

Spend refers to the amount of monthly spend on voice, data, SMS and other services on the MTN Rwanda network.
Qualification into the MTN Prestige Club is open to all MTN prepaid and post-paid customers with a minimum monthly average spend of Frw 5,000 over 3 months. The eligible customers are classified into 5 Spend Bands namely, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Grey. These categories are dependent on the customers spend on MTN network.

YOLO is a product designed for the youth below the age of 25. Meaning anyone above 25 years of age is not eligible to access/use YOLO packs.
A customer who activates any voice or data pack gets to enjoy access to night offers of 1 free GB & 1hr free night calls from midnight to 6am in the morning, free Wikipedia & weekend voice bonus.
All bonuses ( data and voice) apart from the weekend bonus are effective after midnight. And from that time they take priority till exhausted.
Bonus details can only been seen from midnight till 6:00 am.
