MTN foundation background

MTN Foundation was established in February 2010,  Managed by an external board of Rwandans.

The foundation supports initiatives in Education, Health, Economic Empowerment, and Environment.

MTN has committed 1% of Profit after tax (PAT) annually to run the foundation.

Corporate Social Investment is defined as grant making or social investing into projects or programmes that aim to make a sustainable positive impact in society.

Such projects should be aligned to the MTN core business and to addressing the needs of global society as agreed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

CSI projects, which are supported by MTN, should ideally also be aligned to the National Priority Area (NPA) for government.

CSI for MTN includes programme commitment for at least a 3-to-6-year period, where impacts and outcomes are measurable. This represents the core focus and the majority of investment for MTN CSI divisions and Foundations.
