Chantal Umutoni Kagame, Chief Executive Officer, Mobile Money Rwanda Limited

Chantal joined MTN Rwandacell PLC in May 2018 as the Chief Business and Corporate Affairs Officer. Chantal is a senior Telecom Executive with over 19 years of experience in Multinational Telecommunications.

She has a track record of excellent achievement in the 3 Rwandan Telco companies in areas of Executive Leadership, Sales and Distribution, Mobile Financial Services, Strategy Development and Execution, Corporate Affairs, and Credit Management.
Prior to joining MTN Rwandacell, Chantal was the Deputy CEO/COO, Tigo Rwanda for 3 years and Head of Sales, Distribution, and Corporate Affairs at the same company from 2011 to 2015.

Chantal holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Kigali Institute of Science and Technology.


Adolphe Nahayo, Senior Manager Fintech Operations

Adolphe joined Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd in April 2021 as Senior Manager, Fintech Operations. Previously, he was the Head of Finance at MTN Business Kenya while in a rotation scheme in 2019.

He has over 18 years of experience in the Telecom industry and has vast experience in financial and risk management.
Prior to MTN Rwanda cell, Adolphe served in various airline industry (Air Rwanda, Alliance Express) since 1997 – 2003.


Jean Paul Musugi, Senior Manager, Fintech Commercial & Business Development

Jean Paul Musugi joined MTN Rwandacell in 2009, where he has served in different managerial positions acquiring extensive experience in digital financial services.

He graduated with honors from Oklahoma Christian University (USA) with a dual Master’s degree in Finance and Marketing. He also alumni of Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI) certified in Digital Money operations.


Solomon Mutsinzi, Fintech Analytics, Budgeting & Reporting Manager

Solomon joined MTN Rwandacell in 2016. Prior to joining the Fintech team, he was in charge of Business Analyst and Reporting.

He has expertise in the areas of data analytics and modeling; business intelligence; customer segmentation and value management; reporting and data visualization, business planning/budgeting and forecasting; market analysis, and competitive landscaping.

Previous to joining MTN Rwanda, he worked at the National Institute of Statistics.


Hilary Rangira, Fintech Risk, AML & Compliance Manager

Hilary Joined MTN Rwandacell PLC in March 2018. He became Fintech AML, Risk and Compliance Manager at MTN Rwandacell PLC in April 2020.

Prior to that, Hilary led different projects at MTNR including AML remediation program, GSMA Mobile Money Certification in 2020, where MTN Rwandacell PLC was the first provider in Rwanda to gain the GSMA Mobile Money Certification.
He is a member of the Association for Certified Anti-Money Laundering specialist, with a Telecommunication industry Mini MBA from the Telecoms Academy.

Prior to joining MTN, Hilary served at Tigo Rwanda in different departments Outside the telecom industry he also worked at Skol brewery ltd.


Christian Mugenzi Kajeneri, Senior Manager, Fintech Strategy, Products and Services

Christian is joining us from Equity Bank Rwanda PLC, where he was serving as a Head of Payments [Digital Channels] with key functions: Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, eCommerce (MPGS), Remittances, Diaspora banking, Agency banking, Merchants acquiring (POS & EazzyPay), Cards business issuing and Social Projects/ Strategic partnerships.

Prior to this, Christian served with Ericsson AB, MMEA East Africa – Region with MTN as the Customer Unit in Rwanda, Zambia, and the kingdom of Eswatini. In this role, he was majorly the Account Manager in charge of ECW/digital services new sales, and presales. His previous career involves different hats such as IT, Operations Management, Business Strategy, Supply Chain Management, Sales, Negotiations, and FinTech.

Christian holds a master’s in business administration and Leadership from the African Leadership University School of Business and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Telecommunication from the University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology (former Kigali Institute of Science and Technology).
