MTN Rwanda Unveils Revamped Yolo

MTN Rwanda today unveiled its revamped youth proposition titled Yolo to the public. Launched in 2016 to the 16-24 age group, Yolo is tailored for the youth segment on the lookout for value, giving them access to a unique platform that includes exciting voice and data offers.

Speaking about this enhanced proposition, MTN’s Chief Marketing Officer, Richard Acheampong said, “The MTN Yolo revamp is the result of extensive insight gathering with the youth segment. We are inviting them to a world where anything is possible, where MTN is the network that makes everything possible. Our whole campaign is hinged on inspiring the youth to be great and be who they want to be, hence the campaign tagline #Iyaminiye, loosely translated to ‘believe in yourself and be great’”.

Yolo users want customised products and solutions that they can identify with. With the revamped proposition, MTN is offering them EPIC experiences and packages with simplified price points of Frw100, Frw500 or Frw1000. These are broken down into Voice packs, Voice and Data, Data and Data with Social Media bundles. Subscribers from the ages of 24-30 can now also enjoy differentiated offers, while still getting the benefits of the Yolo’s affordability.

Subscribers will also experience the benefits of newly introduced lifestyle packages that give them discounts and free vouchers in partnership with Jumia Food, Century Cinema, various gyms, outdoor activities such as ziplining, horse riding and archery with Fazenda Sengha, and much more.

“The youth are looking at tangible and aspirational experiences that create meaning in their lives. They have squad goals as well as individual ambitions. They want to be inspired and not instructed. Our lifestyle offers provide all this for our Yolo segment,” said Acheampong.

Over the next three months, subscribers will be rewarded for their loyalty with free voice calls, free SMS and free data bundles, only on Rwanda’s No.1 network. They will be gifted with exciting prizes such as cash, TV sets, cows, Bluetooth speakers, laptops and phones, simply for staying on the network and using Yolo. They can opt to join the Yolo movement for free by dialling *154*6#.

MTN has partnered with The Rwandan Basketball Federation (FERWABA) to launch the revamp with the MTN Yolo Hoops tournament between 2 of the biggest basketball teams in the country, REG and The Patriots.

We believe this is in line with FERWABA’s vision and strategy of empowering the Youth in the areas of sports, to ensure they have more access to the game and to strengthen their talent,” concluded Acheampong.
