MTN Introduces MyMTN App

MTN Rwanda is pleased to be the first Rwandan telco to launch a mobile application with the announcement of the new MyMTN App. This application is an all-in-one, self-care tool enabling MTN customers to self-serve and engage with customer service online and everywhere they go.


MTN Rwanda is pleased to be the first Rwandan telco to launch a mobile application with the announcement of the new MyMTN App. This application is an all-in-one, self-care tool enabling MTN customers to self-serve and engage with customer service online and everywhere they go.

MyMTN App is available for all MTN post-paid and prepaid smartphones subscribers. It can be downloaded for freefrom app stores such as Apple Store (iOS), Google Play (Android) or BlackBerry World.
Richard Acheampong, Chief Marketing Officer at MTN Rwanda, says this is another customer-centric innovation to give customers full control of their MTN phone accounts.

“MyMTN app is easy to download and free to use, that means customers are not charged for data used on the app. MyMTN gives subscribers greater control of their own mobile services so that they can access services and solve issues without having to contact company representatives.

We are revamping the customer experience at each touchpoint. By being pro-consumer, we are introducing this free app and providing a world-class point-of-sale experience that is easy, personal, and allows customers to be in control of their usage.”

MyMTN exists out of 2 main platforms – Mobile Money and MyMTN Self-Care. For Mobile Money, the regular 5-digit pin is used to login. For MyMTN Self-Care, an account is created, and the user will from then on be able to access Self-Care services with his/her set password. Additionally, login is supported by an SMS code to ensure security of customers’ details.

We aim to connect all MTN subscribers on MyMTN app, so they can enjoy an array of additional benefits with a seamless user experience. We have been and will continue exploring innovative ways to deliver personalized and valuable experiences to our customers, we are proud to be the first in Rwanda to do this through a mobile application,” concluded Acheampong.
