MTN Rwanda hosts Corporates to a spectacular Golf Day

MTN Rwanda, this past weekend hosted the annual MTN Golf Open at the Kigali Golf Club to the excitement and enjoyment of its corporate customers and valued guests. The two day golfing event on 10th and 11th October attracted high participation from regular Kigali Golf Club members as well as representatives from several corporate companies.

At the tee off event, MTN CEO Gunter Engling said, “This is an opportunity for us to engage and network with our customers in a relaxed environment. MTN Rwanda’s association with the game of golf is a demonstration of the Company’s commitment for the growth of sports in the country.”

For the last 4 years MTN Rwanda has generously invested in the game of golf that sees corporate golfers get a chance to exchange ideas while enjoying a game of golf.

This year MTN partnered with Victoria Motors and Qatar Airways that provided the Hole-in-One prize of a Mitsubishi L200 Truck which eluded all the golfers and an airline ticket, respectively.

The overall winner of the Children’s category was Lawuru Gahima, who with six other children won medals and MTN Hampers.
The winner in the Ladies category was Sheetal Philip who walked away with a brand new BlackBerry Classic phone.

The winner of the Men’s category 3 was Francis Njoga with a Handicap of 19-28, Category 2 was Kim Moon with a Handicap of 10-18 and Category 1 was Rutamu Innocent with a Handicap of 0-9. They all won brand new BlackBerry Classic phones.

For the Seniors Category of golfers aged 60 and above, John Museminali won the grand prize for the best net score of the whole tournament. He received an air ticket to any destination in the world from Qatar Airways, who came in as joint sponsors with Victoria Motors.

MTN Rwanda has consistently supported the sporting fraternity in Rwanda and aside from golf, it has assisted many sports over the years including football, basketball, volleyball and athletics. The Kigali Peace Marathon sponsored by MTN has supported many noble causes since it began and remains the flagship event on the Rwandan sports calendar.
