Kigali – MTN, the leading telecommunication provider in Rwanda, scooped the Best Overall Exhibitor award at the just concluded 18th Rwanda International Trade Fair that took place between July 29 and August 12 2015 at Gikondo Expo Grounds.
The International Trade Fair, organised annually by the Private Sector Federation (PSF) in conjunction with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, provides an occasion for exploring investment opportunities in the country while supporting and promoting local manufacturers and service providers.
Gunter Engling, MTN’s newly appointed CEO, said the Expo gave MTN the opportunity to display its numerous innovative products and services to the public as well as reach out to customers.
“Our staff exhibited excellence in ensuring customer experience and satisfaction was attained by interacting more with customers and responding to their needs, in the level of innovation and in the consistency of the high-quality services provided at the MTN stand. We are honoured to receive this award and thank our customers for supporting us too,” he said.
Part of the criteria considered for the award process included the stand’s visibility, branding and quality, consistency in doing business, customer care and the ability of employees to explain the available products and satisfy customers. MTN also received a Certificate of Appreciation and Recognition as a Platinum Sponsor.
This year’s trade fair is one of the largest trade fairs in the region both in terms of participation as well as in terms of number of visitors, with 408 exhibitors and 311,824 visitors.
MTN Rwanda has over the years, won numerous awards in the categories of best overall exhibitor, best in the ICT sector, most innovative exhibitor as well as best customer care.
