Ngirumpatse Straton from Rubavu District is the second person to win a brand new Suzuki Alto car as part of the 12 week long MTN Sharama promotion.
Ngirumpatse, a 44 year-old Director of Health at Rubavu Hospital received his car at a handover event organised by MTN yesterday at Petite Barriere in Rubavu amidst a throng of excited onlookers.
Standing on stage, Mr Ngirumpatse said he was happy to finally have a car of his own, as he had been depending on public transportation and motos to move around.
"I had planned to take a loan from the bank to buy myself a car, but last week I received a call from MTN informing me I had won a car. I cannot begin to express my happiness and gratitude to MTN. By giving back to their customers they have given me this opportunity that will ease transportation for my family,” said the father of four.
He urged other people to take part in any future promotion.
"I have never taken part in any promotions in my life because I thought I didn’t think I was lucky enough to win. Now that I have won I intend to take part in upcoming MTN promotions,” Ngirumpatse continued.
On October 21st, the Sharama team travelled to Kirehe to deliver the first car to 32 year old Hitayezu Jerome.
The MTN Sharama promotion is the latest and biggest in a series of annual Sharama promotions held by MTN. The promotion has sparked a lot of excitement in the 2 weeks since it began on 9th October. So far two cars have been given away, 7,000,000Rwf in cash and 7,000,000 worth of airtime.
